Intention and Purpose

The Keys to Life

Life is an experience of cause and effect. The events that unfold in our human life each day are the effects of causation which we, ourselves create. So, if we want to change the nature of our daily life experiences, we need to change them at the causation level.

How do we go about doing this? There are two keys: Intention and Purpose.

Both of these words are in general use in the English language within a variety of contexts. In this section we are going to attach some specific meanings to each of these terms, and thus will use an upper-case "I" and "P" in spelling these words to differentiate our use of the terms from some of the more common usage. Let's begin with a consideration of Intention.

Intention

Unfortunately, like so many aspects of life within the human realm, our collective understanding of the concept of Intentions is at best, woefully inadequate. How many times have we heard the phrase -- "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"! In this section we are going to explore the concept of Intention, and later, the companion concept of Purpose, from a interdimensional perspective.

One of the sayings that I have always appreciated is:

"If we don't change the direction in which we are headed, we are liable to end up where we are going."
How does this relate to Intentions? It is our Intentions that set the direction in which we are headed. They are like the rudder on a ship. If we want to change the directions in which a ship is moving, we must change the setting of the rudder. And if we want to change the direction of our life, we must change our Intentions.

I am sure that there are many different perspectives from which we could begin our exploration of Intentions. But since my early education was in the field of electrical engineering, it is meaningful to me to consider Intention from an "energetic" perspective. Needless to say, most of what I am going to share are concepts that I didn't learn in school.

The Great Cosmic Secret

The energies that we know as electricity and magnetism are derived from a primal source energy grid that is everywhere, everpresent within our universe. The energy of gravity also is derived from this same primal energy grid. And there is yet a fourth energy which we, as yet, know much less about -- for lack of a better term, I will simply refer to it as "pyramid energy". The conventional scientific community has not yet discovered this primal energy grid, and thus there is no established name for it. So we shall refer to it by its higher-dimensional name -- "Electric Fire".

There is a second primal source energy grid that also is everywhere, everpresent. We shall refer to it as "Cosmic Fire". It could be thought of as a higher-octave counterpart of the Electric Fire grid. Not surprisingly, there are four energies which are derived from Cosmic Fire, and each is a higher-dimensional corespondent of one of the four energies derived from Electric Fire. The four energies that are related to Cosmic Fire are shown in the following table, along with their Electric Fire counterpart.

Energies Derived from Electric Fire and Cosmic Fire

ELECTRIC FIRE COSMIC FIRE
Electricity Thought
Magnetism Emotion
Pyramid Energy Kundalini
Gravity Life Force

A point of clarification may be appropriate regarding the energies derived from Cosmic Fire. My understanding, based on my higher-dimensional teachers, may be slightly at variance from some of the teachings from the Eastern tradition. However, my understanding is as follows:

Life Force energy is focalized in the Base chakra, and functions through the acupuncture meridian system. Anatomically and physiologically, it is closely associated with the sacrum, rather than with the Endocrine glands.

Kundalini energy is focalized in the second, or Sexual chakra, and functions through the nervous system. Sexual energies, including orgasm, are aspects of the Kundalini energy. Also, Yin and Yang are polarities of the Kundalini energy. In the context of the martial arts, "Chi" or "Ki" is essentially Kundalini energy that is consciously directed through the nervous system.

Emotional energy is focalized in the Solar Plexus chakra.

Thought energy is focalized in the Brow chakra.

At this point, let's shift our focus back to electricity and magnetism for a moment, and consider an analogy.

Propagation of Electromagnetic Energy

An electric field cannot be transmitted through space by itself. In order to transmit, or propagate, an electric field, it must be integrated with a magnetic field, thus creating an electromagnetic field. The energy fields, or energy waves, which are transmitted through space from our radio and television broadcasting stations are thus, electromagnetic in nature.

To continue with this analogy, such electromagnetic waves, are not of great value unless information is incorporated into these waves. In scientific terms, this is known as modulation. In other words, the electromagnetic waves, sometimes referred to as the "carrier", are modulated with information so that they can "carry" the information to our receiving units -- a radio or television set. In the case of radio, such information might be in the form of spoken words, music, or a variety of other audio forms. In the case of television, a visual component is, of course, added. Within our receiving units, the electromagnetic carrier waves are demodulated so that the audio and video information can be converted back to energy forms to which our eyes and ears are attuned.

Our "Intention" Energy Field

In a very similar manner, our thought energy (corresponding to electrical energy) combines with our emotional energy (corresponding to magnetic energy) to create an Intention energy field (corresponding to electromagnetic energy) that is constantly being radiated out in all directions from us, just like the energy from a radio or television broadcasting antenna. [That was a long sentence, but a crucially important one -- you might want to read it again.]

However, in the same sense that an electromagnetic carrier field is of little value unless it is modulated with information, so also our Intention energy field is of very little value unless it is modulated with information. Within the human energy structure, the modulating unit (akin to the studio in a radio or television station) lies within the mechanism of our heart chakra. And the "information" with which we modulate our Intention energy field is in the form of "desire" -- the desire of our "heart". Of course here we are not using the term "heart" to refer to our physical heart organ, but rather to refer to our "beingness" -- the desire of our "beingness".

Now let's expand the picture. Everyone is constantly "broadcasting" their desire in the form of a modulated Intention energy field. This field serves both an attracting and a screening function. It attracts others into our reality if the desire that they have modulated into their Intention energy field is in resonance with the desire that we have modulated into our Intention energy field. On the other hand, it screens out , or prevents others from coming into our reality if their desire, as modulated into their Intention energy field, is not in resonance with our desire. This is an infallible principle of spiritual science.

The problem for the vast majority of people on the planet is that, first, they are not aware of the principle, and secondly, they are totally "undisciplined" in regard to the nature of the "desires", or "aspiration", that they modulate into their Intention energy field. In other words, there is very little discernment involved in the expression of their desires.

Creating Our Life the Way we Want it to Be

Each of us, thus, has the ability to create our life the way we want it to be. It is as simple as using discernment in the nature of the desires that we modulate into our Intention energy field. Just like setting the rudder on a ship, so also we set the desire within our Intention field in a way that will attract into our reality those experiences which are in resonance with the way we want our life to be. And similarly, it will screen out experiences that are not in resonance with our desire, and not allow them into our life.

However, we can only do this for ourself! We cannot create someone else's life the way that we want it to be. It seems so obvious, and yet what a temptation it is for us at times to attempt to set their Intentions to create their life the way we want it to be. The temptation is especially great if it involves someone who is an important part of our life, such as a child, a parent, a sibling, a partner, or a close friend. All we can do is to perhaps help them understand the principle, but it is up to them as to whether or not they make good use of it.

Although the principle we have been discussing is infallible , our application of the principle is not infallible. Most of us, in ignorance of the principle, have developed sloppy habits throughout our lives related to the setting of our desires into our Intention energy field. In order for the application of the principle to be absolutely infallible in our life, we must be absolute in the setting of our Intention. It is not sufficient to simply repeat an affirmation a couple of times -- affirming our desire -- and then forgetting about it. Remember that our Intention energy field is an integrated energy field that includes both our thoughts and our emotions (or feelings). In order to modulate our desire into our Intention energy with clarity, our thoughts must be consistent with our feelings. To express a thought in the form of a desire, without it being accompanied by deep and sincere feelings, will not result in a clear Intention.

There also must be consistency between the desire we set into our Intention energy field, and the physical actions we take. It does not work to set an Intention of living our life safely, and then go out and stand in the middle of a freeway. Nor does it work to Intend that our life be filled with Love, and then act unLovingly toward the people with whom we interact.

As we work at the process of bringing discipline into our Intention setting process, we soon learn that it requires a shift in our awareness. We might appropriately begin our day with the setting some of the Intentions that are of particular importance at this moment in our life. Then, as we go through the day, we learn to observe ourself -- the words we speak -- the things we do -- to be certain that everything we express in our life is consistent with the Intentions that we have set. As we work as this process, day by day, and month by month, and year by year, eventually it simply becomes a "part of us".

To use another analogy, it is similar to learning a new physical skill, such as swinging a golf club. At first we are conscious of the entire process -- attempting to incorporate everything into our swing that we have been coached to do. And in the early stages of our efforts, we seldom get it all right. But gradually, through practice and more practice, each aspect we have been learning to do begins to fit together into an integrated swing. Eventually, we develop it into a "grooved" swing that requires very little of our conscious attention -- it simply becomes "part of us." From that point on, the only aspect that needs our conscious attention is a minor correction or improvement from time to time -- so long as we continue to play the game with regularity.

So it is with the setting of our desires into our Intentions -- eventually they simply become a part of WHO WE ARE. And rather than being a process that requires our constant conscious attention, our Intentions become a STATE OF BEING -- so long as we re-affirm our Intentions with regularity.

Purpose

Purpose could appropriately be viewed as a higher- dimensional aspect of Intention.

In the section entitled, "Patterns of Creation", we introduced the concept of Virtue -- that quality which distinguishes a "sentient" being from a being of lesser development. In introducing the idea of Virtues, we indicated that they are, in reality, "vast concepts" within the fundamental nature of our Creator. And although they are beyond words, we named the 12 Virtues using a single word that at least hints at their vast meaning. We listed the 12 Virtues as Compassion, Justice, Courage, Will, Beauty, Joy, Loyalty, Purity, Imagination, Curiosity, Power, and Love.

Virtues could be thought of as a higher dimensional aspect of desire. Thus, within the higher-dimensional aspect of our beingness, our Virtues are set into expression through Purpose. Let's consider this in greater detail.

The Causal Realm

In the section entitled, "Soul and Oversoul Structures", we indicated that our "Monad", or our "Essence-Self", exists in the form of structures of Light geometry. But, these Light geometry forms do not exist in the realm of atomic structure. Rather, they exist at a higher level within the creative scheme. And since it is Light geometry that causes manifestations to occur within the realm of atomic structure, we shall refer to the realm in which such structures exist as the "Causal Realm". So by this definition, our Essence-Self exists as a structure of Light geometry within the Causal Realm.

There are correspondences of thought and emotion which exist within the Causal Realm. These are shown in the following table.

Energy Correspondences

ELECTRIC FIRE COSMIC FIRE CAUSAL REALM
Electricity Thought Light
Magnetism Emotion Love

From the table we see that Light and Love are Causal Realm correspondences of thought and emotion. At this point, we need to clarify some aspects regarding the nature of Light and Love. Lets begin with Love.

The Nature of Love

Although we used the word "Love" to identify one of the 12 Virtues, Love also is an energy. It would be nice if we had two separate words in the English language -- one to refer to Love as a Virtue, and one to refer to Love as an energy. But we don't, and to create another word here would simply add more confusion than clarity. In the discussion to follow, we will refer to Love in the context of an energy , unless we specifically indicate otherwise.

The Nature of Light

Scientists have long puzzled over the question as to whether light (as we know it within the physical realm) is a substance or an energy. For it seems to exhibit the qualities of both. Such is the nature of light. The Light from which geometric structures are constructed within the Causal Realm, is a higher-order form of the light which we experience within the physical realm. These Light geometry structures exhibit the substance aspect of Light. But Light also is an energy.

As Above, So Below

Just as within the human realm the energies of thought and emotion combine to create the energy of Intention, so also within the Causal Realm -- the realm of our Essence-Self -- the energies of Light and Love combine to create the energy of Purpose. And in like manner, just as within the human realm our desires are set into expression through Intention, so also within the Causal Realm our Virtues are set into expression through Purpose.

Earlier we indicated that within the human realm, our desires are modulated into our Intentions through the mechanism of the Heart chakra. In the section entitled, "Extended Chakra System and the related Endocrine-Sensory Glands", we indicated that a chakra exists between the Throat chakra and the Heart chakra. And we referred to this chakra as the High-Heart chakra. It is the High-Heart chakra through which the Essence-Self links into the human-self. Thus, the High-Heart chakra is the mechanism through which our Virtues are modulated into the energy field of Purpose.

Surrender to Our Essence-Self

In our earlier discussion, we indicated that the energy of Intention attracts into our reality those experiences which are in resonance with our desires, and that it screens out those experiences which are not in resonance with our desires. And we indicated that this principle is infallible. However, there is ONE EXCEPTION!

Desire and Intention function within the human realm. But we just indicated that a parallel process is going on within the Causal Realm, involving Virtue and Purpose of our Essence-Self. Virtue and Purpose are translated into experience within the realm of atomic structure through the mechanism of our Oversoul. As an awakened spiritual being in human form, our objective is to live our human life in alignment with our souls' Purpose. And the objective of our soul is to function in alignment with the Purpose of our Essence-Self. So long as we maintain this interdimensional alignment of Purpose, our human life flows with ease, and we experience our desires, as expressed through our Intentions, come into reality in our human life. However, if our desires, expressed as Intention within the human realm, are at variance with our soul's Purpose, then our Essence-Self will override our human Intention, through the expression of its Purpose, via the mechanism of our Oversoul.

Let's consider an example. Let's assume that we are at a point in our life at which we are open to a new relationship coming into our life experience. Since most of us have been through experiences involving relationships that were not harmonious, we carefully establish an Intention that the new relationship will be one of harmony and joy. Thus, according to the principle of resonance, the only type of relationship that we would attract into our life experience would involve someone with similar Intentions. But for purposes of example, let's say that our Essence-Self has a greater Purpose in mind. From its perspective, it knows that there is someone within the human realm with whom we have "unfinished business". Perhaps we were in conflictual relationship with that person in a previous lifetime, and left the incarnation with matters still unresolved. So our Essence-Self sees that there would be a wonderful opportunity to attract this person back into relationship with us, so that we can heal the residual unbalanced energies. Thus, it creates a corresponding energy field of Purpose, which is expressed through our soul. Thus, this Purpose overrides our human Intention, and creates an attraction at the soul level which will draw this person into our human experience.

So if we, as an awakened spiritual being in human form, are truly sincere in wanting our life to be in alignment with the Highest Good -- the Purpose of our Essence Self -- then it is important in setting our Intentions that we express this desire to surrender to the Purpose of our Essence-Self. By so doing we maintain a harmonious alignment between our human Intention and the Purpose of our Essence-Self -- and our life correspondingly flows with ease.
